Product Description

Latin name: Trichocereus pachanoi
Also know as: Echinopsis pachanoi, Cereus pachanoi, San Pedro

Trichocereus pachanoi is commonly named San Pedro Cactus. This beautiful columnar cactus is native to the mountains of Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru and the northern parts of Argentina where it grows at an altitude of 1200-2600 meters. Trichocereus pachanoi is a very tolerant cactus and in the Andes mountains it can withstand heavy rainfall and low temperatures (-11°C).

Trichocereus pachanoi is a fast growing (upto half its length in a year) columnar cactus with 4-8 ribs, sometimes with multiple stems. It can reach heights of 5-6 meters in nature. San Pedro flowers are a beautiful white and appear during the night with a nice fragrance.

Cultivation

3-5cm Seedling:

A young San Pedro cactus grown from seed, already rooted and ready to be repotted in a bigger container with cactus soil. Always use a cactus soil mixture!

10-11cm & 45-50cm Cutting:

Plant the cutting on the surface of potsoil mixed with sand and perlite or use a premixed cactus soil. Keep the cutting in the shade or indirect sunlight and water regularly. After about half a year the cactus will have formed roots and the cutting can be repotted in fresh cactus soil.

(1000 seeds is approximately 0.80 gram)
