Camellia sinensis – Green Tea var. Gunpowder
There are various types of teas. Many popular teas are all derived from Camellia sinensis, a plant that eventually is used to form Green, Black, White, and Oolong teas. Overall, green tea is the ‘basic’ tea that is enzymatically inactive and non-oxidized. White tea and Oolong tea are partially oxidized, but Oolong is still enzymatically active. Black tea is fully oxidized and enzymatically active. Pu-erh tea is fermented and quite unique from the other teas.
Green tea is rich in powerful antioxidants, and has been known to fight viruses and slow aging. Green tea aids in weight loss, reduces “bad” cholesterol, boosts the immune system, and is also associated with the prevention of cancer. Green tea is widely used as a natural preservative in food and cosmetics. Green tea helps overweight people shed excess fat without side effects. It may help modulate calorie and fat burning through the sympathetic nervous system, the adrenal glands and specific nerve chemicals. Green tea shows fat-burning properties beyond those explained by its caffeine content.
Gunpowder green tea is a form of green tea in which each leaf has been rolled into a small round pellet. Its English name comes from its resemblance to grains of gunpowder. Gunpowder green tea tastes bold and lightly smoky, also lending to its name. Gunpowder tea leaves stay fresh longer than any other green tea leaves due to its compressed form. Gunpowder green is higher in caffeine than most other green teas (35-40 mg/8 oz serving) and is commonly used by athletes to improve endurance over periods of 3-6 hours.

This is not a high quality tea, make no mistake (still better than the sh*t they put in the tea bags of grocery store teas though).
It’s a very good value for money, get the job done (gives you energy, helps you work more and harder, faster) and it’s healthy.
Great choice if you are on a budget or you are not a tea aficionado, 5/5 stars for the great value for money, but if you are looking for high quality speciality tea you will be disappointed.
Kee up the great work Gaiana, love your shop, a customer for 3+ years.

This is a great everyday green tea that far exceeds my expectations. It has a sweet note, even reminds in the fragrance of higher quality teas, does not taste bitter at all and can be infused well at least twice, which is also not possible with every gunpowder. My recommendation: strong buy !
