St. John’s Wort (Hypericum perforatum) is a herb which, through the active component hypericin, works as a dopamine-related anti-depressant and is effective at doing so. While it appears effective, it is well known to adversely interact with a variety of pharmaceuticals. St. John’s Wort contains:

  • Hypericin, initially thought to be the major psychoactive component of the plant
  • Pseudohypericin

    Good herb, but you must be careful when you want some herb’s combination included Hypericum perforatum.

    Because this herb is not for mixing with other herbs (only in min. dosage) nor with pharmaceuticals (it may be dangerous).
    Safety combinations may be with fruit tea, or with lemon & honey (for better taste / flavour).
